First rule of art club - talk about Art Club! The more the merrier!
What is it?
A place to connect with other creatives, learn, grow and share. Make friends with like-minded artists who may or may not know what it’s like to be an entrepreneur, a freelance illustrator, where to source products, where to get the best watercolor brushes. Honestly it’s just an excuse for us all to schedule some creativity and play into our busy work weeks! #selfcare am I right?!
Where is it?
At Moniker General in Liberty Station in their back patio where the long tables are - perfect for bringing all your art supplies.
When is it?
Every first and third Friday of the month from 9am till noon. We all need something to look forward to at the end of the week and what better way than to start the weekend than connecting and creating?!
Who is it for?
All artists and creative people! Painters, illustrators, graphic designers, any medium you have. Also for women who own creative businesses, are freelancing.
Do I need to be a working artist, or even an artist?
NO! While Art Club is definitely geared towards bringing together creative businesses owners, there is no discrimination! If you want to learn how to paint or draw I truly believe you should probably hang around some people who do that for a living.
Is this a workshop or class?
NO! There will be no formal teaching! This is a place where you can bring what you're working on and just paint or draw for fun! You can be as social as you want but this isn’t a free watercolor illustration workshop (or whatever kind of art you subscribe to.) With that being said, if someone wants to take time to teach or help one another, that would be very sweet of them and on their own account. But artists are under no obligation to spend their time teaching.
Do I need to RSVP?
Nope. You’re free to come as you please. No save the date, no obligations!
Is it free?
YES! There is no cost to meet up like this currently. Just artist meeting in a public space all having coffee at moniker!
